David Dyer, 74, passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at his Kalispell residence.

David was born Dec. 27, 1930, to Robert T. and Katherine Hanks Dyer. David graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in civil engineering.

He worked most of his life for the Army Corps of Engineers. He loved to share stories of working in various parts of the world; his favorite places were Saudi Arabia and Alaska.

David married Hazel Smith on June 11, 1963, in Redding, Calif. They lived in Alaska for 12 years and Longview, Wash., for 13 years prior to moving to Kalispell in 1994. Hazel passed away in December 2003.

David moved shortly after Hazel's death to Buffalo Hill Terrace and then to the Montana Veterans Home. David was very happy when he was able to return to his home this fall.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a brother, Anson.

David is survived by two sisters, Charlotte of North Carolina, and Margaret of Indiana; two brothers, Sydney of Maine, and Kenneth of Massachusetts; and his church family at Northridge Heights Church of God.

David was a devout Christian and loved to read his Bible. He was a quiet, generous loving man, with a pleasant smile always on his face.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Northridge Heights Church of God, with Pastor Terry Harper and Pastor Derrick Zamora officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.
