Take holiday tour of historic homes

The Holiday Tour of Historic Homes takes place from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4.

The event is sponsored by the Northwest Montana Historical Society to raise funds for ongoing programs at The Museum at Central School.

Five of Kalispell's finest historic homes will be dressed in their best holiday splendor. Participants can begin the self-guided tour at any of the five homes after purchasing tickets at one of the following Kalispell outlets: Western Outdoor Store, Books West, Flathead Travel, The Museum reception desk, and at any of the tour homes. Tickets are $20 for Historical Society members and $25 for nonmembers.

A festive reception featuring food, hot spiced wine and sweet treats will be held during the tour from 1 to 5 p.m. at The Museum, 124 Second Ave. E. At 5 p.m., a drawing will be held for a room for two at the historic Belton Chalet in West Glacier.

Get a photo of your pet with Santa today

The Humane Society of Northwest Montana hosts its annual Santa Paws Pet Photo event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Humane Society's Animal Adoption Center, 3499 U.S 93 N.

Pet owners will have the opportunity to have holiday photos of their pets taken with Santa.

Church hosts Christmas bazaar

United Methodist Church, 117 Second St. W., in Columbia Falls has its Joy of Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Breakfast will be served until 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pasties and lefse will be available to go. Call 892-5811.

Holidayfest today in Lakeside

The ninth annual West Shore Holidayfest gets under way from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the Lakeside School gymnasium. Admission is free.

More than 30 exhibitors will be offering unique handcrafted gift items.

Until 11 a.m., children can sit for a free professional photo with Santa.

They also will enjoy shopping at the kids-only market (items cost less than $5).

Musical performances are scheduled throughout the day, culminating at 3:30 p.m. with the Somers Jazz Ensemble.

At noon, the "Festival of Flavors" begins - an opportunity to sample an assortment of foods from West Shore establishments.

Two silent auctions close at noon and 3 p.m.; and a live auction is from 1 to 2 p.m.

Evergreen hosts holiday bazaar

The public is invited to a holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Evergreen Volunteer Fire Department, 2236 U.S. 2 E., in Kalispell.

Crafts, knitted scarves and goods, candles, jewelry, quick mixes, flavored cooking oils, baked goods will be for sale. A garage sale also will be available.

Christmas bazaar in Whitefish

St. Peter Lutheran Church, 201 Wisconsin Ave., in Whitefish has a Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Baked goods, crafts, Christmas items and more will be for sale. Proceeds will be used for children's camp scholarships and world relief efforts. Call 862-3008 or 862-6999 for details.

Bigfork Holiday Parade is tonight

The Bigfork Holiday Parade gets under way at 6 p.m. today. All are invited to participate and attend this annual event. If you would like to participate, call the Bigfork Chamber of Commerce at 837-5888, or come to the high-school parking lot at 5:30 p.m. to line up.

Community choir hosts Christmas concert tonight

The Valley Voices Community Choir presents its Christmas concert, "Here We Go A Caroling," at 7 p.m. tonight at the First Church of the Nazarene at Whitefish Stage and West Evergreen Drive in Kalispell.

The 60-plus member choir will perform a selection of traditional and Old English carols as well as a finale incorporating masterwork choruses by Mozart, Vivaldi and Handel.

The program is free, but donations are accepted to help cover the group's expenses.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
