Flathead undefeated at Mining City duals

Flathead rolled to an undefeated start at the 18th annual Mining City Duals in Butte Friday. The Braves defeated Missoula Hellgate, Huntley Project and Anaconda by a whopping 200-22 margin.
"We're excited about where we're at," Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said. "They're brawlin' for six full minutes and looking for takedowns."
The Braves lost just four matches in three duals to put themselves in the championship pool.
Whitefish, Polson and Columbia Falls also sent teams to the tournament. The Bulldogs bounced back from losing to AA No. 1 Billings Skyview to beat Hardin in the third round.
Polson had a good start to the day by narrowly beating Conrad 45-42. The Pirates then faced Great Falls Russell in the fifth round and lost 40-18.
Columbia Falls took Billings West to task in the first round with a strong 45-33 showing. The Matcats then faced powerhouse Sidney and fell 82-6. Sidney is one of the favorites, along with Flathead, to win the tournament. Sidney is also ranked No. 1 in the Northwest states poll.
The dual tourney finishes off today after another seven rounds of grappling.
