Jamie Lanham, 16

Jamie Lanham, 16, of Troy, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Troy.

Born April 23, 1989, at Marietta, Ohio, Jamie came to Troy with her family nine years ago and had been in her junior year at Troy High School, where she had played Troy Trojan girls basketball. She also had been active in other school activities including concert choir, junior class representative to the student council, and also a current participant in Troy High School Close Up.

Jamie was a gentle and loving person who had a great love of the outdoors, her "zippy car" and animals including her horse, rabbit, cat, two dogs and bird.

Jamie is survived by her parents, Stacey and Howard Shaffer, of Troy; a brother, Nathan McDonald, of Alaska; grandparents, Charles and JoAnne Lanham, of Belpre, Ohio; her aunt, Stephanie Opie, of Eldon, Mo.; her uncle, David Lanham, of Belpre; and a cousin, Shaundra Conner, of Eldon.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janice Taylor, in October of this year.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at the Troy Church of God. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the church.
