Assistant fire chief leaves

| February 1, 2005 1:00 AM

William "Dee" McCluskey has reportedly resigned his position as assistant chief of Kalispell Fire Department.

McCluskey had been on administrative leave for about three weeks, following allegations of an incident involving another firefighter.

Neither City Attorney Charlie Harball nor Fire Chief Randy Brodehl would comment on McCluskey's resignation. The city reportedly reached an agreement with McCluskey that prohibits discussion of the matter.

McCluskey was hired in summer 2003 as operations chief. His responsibilities included overseeing planning and response for special operations, and coordinating firefighter training.
