Ronald B. Johnson, 62, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at HealthCenter Northwest in Kalispell. He was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Kalispell, the son of Oscar and Edith F. (Curtiss) Johnson.

He attended Kalispell schools. He liked a good garage sale. He always said the Creston Auction was the social event of the year and was a great way to see all of his old friends and catch up on all of the news. On Feb. 28, 1981, he was united in marriage to Sharon in Kalispell. He was always doing mechanic work and carpentry. He worked for Hines Chrysler for many years, doing carpentry work in the 1970s.

Building was something he enjoyed doing. He passed this skill and enjoyment on to his son. From 1987 until his death, he was employed by the city of Kalispell, first as a mechanic and then in the Sign and Signal Department.

Ron was a very giving person; he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone and enjoyed doing so. He was a member of the Montana National Guard from 1961 until 1968.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Johnson; his mother, Edith Rein; a brother, George; and a sister Margaret (Peggy).

He is survived by his wife Sharon of Kalispell; two sons, Randy and Rod, both of Kalispell; his sister, Nada Dunkin of Kalispell; brothers, Harold of Kalispell and Tom of Contact, Nev.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services for Ron Johnson will be Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalispell. There will be no visitation. Urn burial will be at a later date. The family suggests any memorials be sent to the DARE Program, Kalispell Police Department, P.O. Box 1997, Kalispell, MT 59903.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
