Paul B. 'Bud' Stancill

Paul B. "Bud" Stancill, formerly of Kalispell, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at the family home in Glendale, Ariz.

Paul was born in Casper, Wyo., on Dec. 26, 1920. He graduated from Flathead High School in 1939.

Paul took civilian pilot training in Spokane, then went to Fort Stockton, Texas, as an instrument instructor, joining the U.S. Air Force in 1943 as a lieutenant.

Paul married Dorothy Monk, his high school sweetheart, in 1943.

In Kalispell, he was active in community affairs, serving as president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. Paul was a lifetime member of the Kalispell Elks No. 725.

He moved to Arizona in 1960 and retired in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul; his mother, Ruthe; and a brother, Jack.

In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Paul is survived by two sons, Douglas A. Stancill, and his wife, Pat; and Paul Mark Stancill, and his wife, Faye. Paul has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 8, in Glendale. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital, Spokane, Wash.
