Gary Price, a retired long-haul truck driver, died after a long illness, on his 64th birthday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Born at home in Chestnut, La., on Feb. 2, 1941, to Odie Page Price and Peter Benjamin Price (both deceased), Gary was raised in Northwest Louisiana and Northeastern Texas.

In the 1960s Gary took to the highway as an over-the-road truck driver after a short stint working in the Texas/Lousiana oil fields. In over 30 years of driving, Gary hauled almost everything that could be carried in or on a trailer to every state (except Hawaii), Canada and Mexico. His favorite loads were the most difficult - high/wide/heavy.

Extremely proud of his job and responsibilities on the road, Gary was accident free during all those years and hundreds of thousands of miles. Over the years, acknowledging that accomplishment, his employers awarded him numerous safe driving awards.

In 1989, Gary came to the Flathead Valley to live in Kalispell. With the exception of his time on the road as a long-haul trucker, he continued to reside here until his death. When he was home from the road and after his retirement, he enjoyed family camping trips and the beautiful mountain panoramas.

Gary Price is survived by his wife of 21 years, LeFaivre Williamson; and his sons, Gary David Price and Lonnie Darin Price; stepchildren, Daron and Jason Williamson, Rebecca, Medora, and Susan Worsham; sisters, Judy and Doris Price; and brothers, Ray, Dave and Leon Price, and their families.

Services will be private.
