Ronan spills Polson

RONAN - Ronan wrapped up the Northwestern A regular-season girls basketball title Thursday with a 44-37 victory over Polson.

Ronan led after all four quarter, holding a slim 23-20 edge at the half.

Jamie Lake paced the Maidens in scoring, 14 points, while Des Krell added 12 and Bridget Taylor 10.

Kara Huyser scored 19 for Polson and was the lone Pirate in double figures.

The Maidens (7-2 in league and 14-3 overall) have a two-game edge on Polson (5-4 and 9-8) and Whitefish (5-4 and 9-8).

Whitefish currently owns the tie-breaker with Polson if both teams finish tied for second.

Regular-season play ends Saturday with Whitefish hosting Bigfork and Libby playing at Polson.
