Kalispell police

A misunderstanding involving a man accused of shoplifting at 1:30 a.m. at a grocery store was eventually cleared. Kalispell police learned that the shopper had put items back on a shelf when he realized he didn't have his wallet with him and went out to his car to get it. He suffered chest pain, though, and was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

A tire was slashed at the mall.

A man caused concern at a store on U.S. 2, where he kept going in to buy an item or two and then retreating to his vehicle in the parking lot. He was gone when officers arrived.

A witness saw people beating a small passenger car and a person in it on Main Street. They were gone before police arrived.

Officers counseled a family when a 14-year-old girl reportedly threw things and abused her sister on First Avenue West.

Two men were charged with their second DUIs after midnight Sunday.

A man reported his wife missing from the hospital at 4:40 a.m. Sunday. Because she wasn't allowed to smoke there, she walked out, he said. She was found at her mother's house.

One of two diners who ran out without paying for a meal at Finnegan's left behind his identification.

A purse was reported stolen at Scotty's bar.
