Kalispell police

| July 3, 2005 1:00 AM

Apparently it is not yet common knowledge that yelling one's head off in front of an art museum is in the very worst possible taste. The shouter in question was counseled Friday night by Kalispell police concerning his poor behavior and sent on his way.

A man was arrested on felony probation violation and felony fail to register as a sex offender Friday evening near Depot Park.

Kalispell Center Mall security personnel reported asking two male juveniles to remove their sorry carcasses from the premises for harassing shoppers and generally acting disorderly. When the two reached the far boundary of the mall, they turned back and started throwing rocks. Unfortunately they were gone when police arrived.

And then there were the fireworks.

More than a dozen reports of fireworks launchings were reported throughout the city Friday night and Saturday morning. Police responded to calls on Merganser Drive, Seventh Street West, Fourth Street West, First Avenue West North, Kelly Road, Sixth Avenue West, Second Street and to several calls on Fifth Avenue East. A man on Eighth Avenue East reported hearing artillery fire.

Most premises were mysteriously silent each time the law arrived, but a man was cited on Glacier Street for tossing fireworks at a police car and subjects were cited on Fifth Avenue East for fireworks ordinance.

A disturbance just after midnight on North Meridian was reported by the mother of a woman said to have been assaulted by a second woman at a house party. A later disturbance at the same location involved a man hitting aforementioned mother in the face.

A dog was stuck under a house on Fifth Avenue West. With all those fireworks, can you blame him?

A white wicker rocking chair was snatched from the front porch of a house on First Avenue East. Did it rock around the block, you think?
