Carmen A. Marozzo, 83

Carmen A. Marozzo, 83, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at HealthCenter Northwest in Kalispell.

Carmen was born Nov. 21, 1921, in Butte, to James and Anna (Chatelle) Marozzo. He was raised in Butte, attending St. Anne's Elementary School, and graduated from Butte High School.

Carmen married Rosanne Mischkot at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton, Wash., in 1942.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Oct. 26, 1943, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged from Fort Lewis, Wash., on Feb. 8, 1946.

Carmen then relocated to Kalispell in 1948, where he owned and operated Main Street Texaco until 1964, when he went to work for Lee Distributing. In 1969, Carmen became the owner operator of Carmen's Steak House. In 1974, he went to work for the Skyline Dairy and then worked for the Equity Supply Company until his retirement in 1983.

Carmen was a longtime member of the Eagles Lodge.

He loved fishing, boating, bowling and playing golf. He enjoyed time spent at Bitterroot Lake and family gatherings. He also loved the companionship of his dog. Carmen liked watching high school sports, especially watching his grandchildren play.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter-in-law, Maria Marozzo.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosanne Marozzo, of Kalispell; a son, Robert C. Marozzo, of Libby; grandchildren, Angela Marozzo of Post Falls, Idaho, James Marozzo of Libby, Jeffrey and Neili Marozzo of Kelso, Wash., Daniel Marozzo of St. Louis, and Michael Marozzo of Libby; and great-granddaughter, Daysha Marozzo.

Graveside urn services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Glacier Memorial Gardens with the Deacon Fred Topp officiating.
