Frances Douglas Walker, 87

Frances Douglas Walker, 87, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1917, in Gastonia, N.C., to John and Edna (Propst) Douglas. Frances attended school in Gastonia, NC and after graduation spent some time in Norfolk, Va.

She met and married Arthur Walker in 1951. She and Arthur made their home in Elgin, Ill., until Arthur's retirement from the Travelers Insurance Co. They then moved to the Flathead Valley to start their retirement. They enjoyed many hours traveling together and absolutely loved the beauty of the Flathead Valley. She also enjoyed reading and doing lots of genealogy and has traced the Douglas ancestry back to their roots in Scotland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; one sister; and one half-sister.

She is survived by one brother, John Roscoe Douglas of Essex Junction, Vt., as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Frances will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 11, at Glacier Memorial Gardens. There will be no visitation.
