The Monday sentencing of convicted sex offender Dick Dasen will be postponed until the end of summer.

On May 20, a jury convicted the Kalispell businessman of sexual abuse of children, promotion of prostitution and four counts of prostitution.

A sex-offender evaluation will not be completed in time for next week's sentencing date, which has not yet been firmly rescheduled.

The court-ordered evaluation is to be done by Dr. James Myers of Libby. According to court records, Myers has undergone surgery and isn't able to complete testing soon.

Dasen remains in the Flathead County jail, awaiting sentencing, despite his request to be released on bail until then.

He faces more than 125 years in prison.

District Judge Stewart Stadler will sentence Dasen, who was acquitted of charges of sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated promotion of prostitution and some counts of prostitution.

Stadler will consider sentencing recommendations from Dasen's defense attorney, George Best; prosecutors Dan Guzynski and Lori Adams; and the Department of Probation and Parole, which is gathering comments from people affected by Dasen's crimes.
