Flathead County Sheriff

| July 15, 2005 1:00 AM

The Flathead County Sheriff's Office was notified about a 10-year-old boy who was shot during the middle of the night in Bigfork. The boy's wound was not life-threatening and thought to be accidentally inflicted by his mother. He was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Violence and threats of violence dominated the Sheriff's Office log.

Threats and obscenities highlighted an encounter on Fourth Street North in Martin City, where a man was cited. Similar threats were made at a drive-through restaurant in Evergreen, where the occupants of a white Ford king-cab truck were rude and challenged a worker to come out and fight.

A "motorcycle guy" was seen beating up another man at the Blue Moon. The fight broke up, with a rumor that they'd take it to the drive-in theater across the street. On Shady Lane, there was pushing and shoving; a deputy found out there is a warrant for the woman involved. On U.S. 2 west, a man tried to fight with people in a Marion parking lot.

On Seville Lane in Coram, a man reportedly threw a woman around, punched her windshield and cracked it, and threatened to burn down her friend's house. A man who tried to intervene was injured and needed medical treatment for an eye injury. The man at the middle of the maelstrom was cited for assault.

At the Wilderness Treatment Center, help was needed with an out-of-control youth. He was given a ride to town to catch a flight.

A drunken woman was a problem at 2 a.m. Thursday at a residence on West Reserve Drive.

A man's yelling and profanities spooked horses on River Road. Perhaps more spooked was the resident on Ashley Drive, where a man appeared and tried to get into the house. He was described as about 20 years old, about 6 feet tall with brown hair and a blue hat, dirty face and deformed hand.

A man who allegedly groped a child on Amtrak was put off the train at Belton with instructions to find another means of transportation to Oregon.

Groceries were stolen right out of a cart at Super 1 in Evergreen. A windshield was smashed on U.S. 2 east of Columbia Falls. Identity theft was reported on Stag Lane.
