Bonsai enthusiasts host show today

The Big Sky Bonsai Society hosts it annual show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Kalispell Center Mall. Society members will be on hand to offer special demonstrations and exhibits throughout the day. The public is welcome to attend.

Garden tour today in Bigfork

Take in a tour of some of Bigfork's finest gardens from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today during the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center's 17th annual Bigfork Garden Tour. The tour will feature five gardens, including Japanese-inspired and a whimsical retreat.

The tour will be offered only today. On Sunday, tickets will admit participants to two seminars. The first seminar starts at 10 a.m. at Swan River Gardens, 175 Swan River Road, and will focus on maintaining a cutting garden.

The second seminar will be about arranging flowers from cutting gardens and will be offered from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and at 1:30 to 2 p.m. at Conrad Floral on Montana 82, next to Putting on the Ritz.

Tickets are available at the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center or at Swan River Gardens.

Polson hosts Live History Days

The Miracle of America Museum celebrates its 14th annual Live History Days today and Sunday on U.S. 93 South in Polson.

Lace makers, spinners, quilters, weavers, bead workers and other artists will give demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

A square dance exhibition is at 11 a.m. today with music for the Old Time Fiddlers.

Sunday will feature auto harp champion William Bryant.

Concessions will be available throughout the two-day event.

Festival todayfeatures live music

The Yaak Wilderness Festival features a full day of live music beginning at 2 p.m. today at the Dirty Shame Saloon. Musicians Alan Lane and Gary Denning, JD Smith and the 3-Legged Dog, and Missoula folksinger Amy Martin will return to this year's festival along with cellist Lee Zimmerman, drumming by Earth Sister Rhythm and reggae funk by Melefluent.

Various arts and crafts booths will be set up, and Rollin' Bones Bar-B-Q will be selling pulled pork sandwiches and Polish dogs. An on-stage auction and raffle for a specialized mountain bike and other prizes will be offered. General admission is $15, and admission for students of all ages is $10.

Eureka artistshost auction today

Eureka Artists in Residence hosts an art auction and benefit today at Lincoln County High School in Eureka. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for viewing and hors d' oeuvres. The auction begins at 7 p.m. Nearly 25 national and international artists' works will be auctioned.

Proceeds will go to the Creative Arts Center Expansion Project. Call 889-3807.

Street dance in Somers tonight

Plan to visit Somers tonight for the Somers Volunteer Fire Department's annual Somers Cajun Street Dance. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Live music will feature alternative rock by Kate Lynch, Chicago-style blues by Big Daddy and the Blue Notes, and the evening's headliner, Lil' Brian and the Zydeco Travelers from Bay City, Texas, delivers southern Cajun funk.

Enjoy Cajun food and all-night dancing. Tickets are $15 and are available at the gate, the fire department and Del's Bar. Proceeds benefit the Somers Fire Department.
