Nellie F. Marty, 94

Nellie F. Marty, 94, "went to be with her savior" on Friday, July 15, 2005, at the Lake View Care Center.

Nellie was born March 28, 1911, in Edgemont, S.D., to Will and Janette Fay. She grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Nellie married Emmett H. Marty on June 20, 1935. They had three children, two sons and a daughter. Emmett and Nellie lived in Custer, S.D., for 32 years, where Nellie worked at a nursing home for 10 years. Nellie then went to work at the hospital in Custer for another 13 years. Emmett and Nellie moved to Hot Springs, S.D., in 1980. Emmett later passed away in 1982. Nellie and Emmett were married 46 years.

Nellie was active in the Evans Council in Hot Springs, S.D., and was a volunteer with the Elderly Meals program for many years and was a constant and reliable worker for the meals program. Nellie was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Nellie's two sons live in Oregon, Bill Marty and his wife, Jeanette; and Jim Marty and his wife, Sharon. One daughter, Dolores Jordt, and her husband, Lester, reside in Bigfork. Nellie leaves six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Private services and burial will be held. Bigfork Funeral Home is caring for the family.
