Still no sign of missing swimmer

| July 20, 2005 1:00 AM

A search by land, air, and water Tuesday failed to turn up any sign of a man missing in the Flathead River.

Gabriel Brown, 21, of Kalispell is presumed drowned.

He disappeared Sunday evening while fishing with friends. Authorities say he told his friends he was going for a swim and didn't reappear. The water is moving fast and searchers fear that Brown was caught in a powerful eddy or current.

Searchers have used boats, divers, dogs, a helicopter and rescuers on the banks in an attempt to find Brown. Dupont said the search will resume today, but may be called off before the day is over.
