Carol Ann Hovland, 59

Carol Ann Hovland, 59, of Lolo, passed away Friday, July 22, 2005, at Hillside Manor. She was born March 5, 1946, in Bremerton, Wash., the daughter of Cora Gladys Lindbo and Ernest Vernon Hovland.

At the age of 10, she moved to Arizona where she graduated from high school, later attending college in Lansing, Mich.

In 1983, she came to western Montana where she'll be remembered for her constant efforts in advocacy for the disabled, including Flathead, Lake and Missoula counties. She was active in CMCD (the Coalition of Montanans Concerned with Disabilities) and would often bring these needs and concerns before local and state political and government agencies.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Faye Hovland.

Her family includes two brothers, Curtis Hovland and his wife Bonnie, of Ventura, Calif., and Larry Hovland of Camp Verde, Ariz.; and a loving circle of close friends.

Memorial Services will be held at Garden City Funeral Home in Missoula at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, with the Rev. Jean Larson officiating.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the YWCA, 1130 W. Broadway, Missoula, MT 59802.
