The Flathead County Sheriff's Office took a report about some imaginative children at the Smith Lake Bridge. They were fishing there Sunday and went to a resident's home to ask for water. When the resident asked why they didn't have their own, they said their foster father told them they need to get used to living without water. A deputy investigated and found they were telling stories.

A girl's ex-boyfriend pounded on her bedroom window in what she said is an ongoing problem with harassment on Lore Lake Drive.

A man said he found his Chevy Corsica sitting in a space at Spruce Park campground with a registration sticker on the window. A man there told the owner he had just bought the vehicle. An investigation ensued.

A dog killed 17 chickens near Marion.

Domestic disturbances were reported on First Avenue North in Hungry Horse and on U.S. 93 South. Road rage was reported in Lakeside and south of Kalispell; in the latter case, a man reportedly climbed into another vehicle and assaulted an occupant. Someone reportedly tried to start a fight at a poker tournament at Marina Cay. On Fourth Street West, someone reportedly shot a chained dog with a sling shot. A caller to Grandale Avenue made lewd remarks about a girl and threatened a dog.

Deputies helped when an elderly man was seen standing in the middle of Frontage Road in his pajamas, waving his arms at about 1 a.m. Monday. He was escorted safely home.

Young people scattered when a deputy arrived at Canyon Elementary School at 3 a.m. Monday. Some went into the woods. One girl was hurt.

A driver who got lost pulled over and went to sleep in a field, alarming a farmer at 4:30 a.m. A resident on Farm to Market Road reported an ongoing problem with people sleeping in her barn. On Monday, someone got into the resident's boat and damaged it. The intruders left behind some items.

A resident on Good Country Road complained about his neighbor's barking dog and also thinks someone broke into his purebred dog's kennel to breed with a not-so-purebred dog. Neighbors also chafed in Polebridge.
