ALERT and the Bigfork Fire Department took care of a boy on Foothills Road who was injured when a horse fell on him. He was flown out for more medical attention.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a call about a "man down" on the sidewalk by Apache Pawn. His problem was not discerned - but apparently he was not down (or out enough) to warrant a trip to the hospital. The department had 10 calls and also went to an accident on U.S. 2 near Costco, where a 23-year-old woman had to be taken to the hospital.

The Evergreen and Kalispell fire departments helped a bicyclist on Village Greens who ran into a vehicle.

Broken and/or hit gas lines were reported on Airport Road and Tamarack Avenue. South Kalispell and Big Mountain fire departments, respectively, responded to those calls.

The Columbia Falls Fire Department cleaned up a diesel spill on U.S. 2.

The Marion Fire Department went to a call about a small lightning-caused fire on Pleasant Valley.

The Blankenship Fire Department responded to a call about a lightning-caused fire on Lake Drive, but didn't find any fire.

The Whitefish Fire Department helped a bicyclist who was in an accident with a vehicle on Wisconsin Avenue.

Boys roasting hot dogs over an open fire in Kila got a lecture on fire safety from Smith Valley Fire Department employees when someone reported a fire there.
