Kalispell police took a report Tuesday night when a clerk at Town Pump on Idaho Street said that a shoplifter assaulted her when she confronted him. She told police she grabbed his shirt and backpack and he shrugged them off, leaving them behind in an unnegotiated trade for the bottle of Mad Dog 2020 that started the event.

More fleeing happened later in the night, when someone reported screaming and threats to steal a vehicle on East California Street. Two men took off when an officer arrived; one drove away in a green Grand Am while the more nimble suspect jumped a fence and fled on foot.

Death threats were reported at a business where a man suspects an employee of a romantic relationship with a woman there.

A window was broken at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

A man was arrested for DUI on Third Avenue East.

At Black Angus, some people refused to pay their entire bill. They did, after digesting the information that police were on their way.

An intoxicated woman appeared in a house on Fourth Street East. A startled resident shooed her out, but she lingered long enough on the porch to prompt a call for police help. A man passed out, uninvited, on a lawn on Second Avenue West.

An out-of-control daughter was reported at Meridian Point Apartments.

Two people were charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on East California Street.

Loud music at 3 a.m. was too much for a neighbor on First Avenue West. An officer persuaded someone to turn down the volume.

A window screen was cut and condoms were placed all over vehicles on 10th Avenue West.

There were numerous complaints of barking dogs, roaming dogs, and a dog that was kicked in front of a witness on Ninth Avenue West.
