Edward Wayne Miller, 58, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

Wayne was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Wayne operated Miller Construction for several years before moving to Montana in 1991. He worked for Swank Enterprises as a carpenter, then ran Miller Construction in Whitefish for a couple of years, returning to Swank Enterprises as a project superintendent. Wayne built the Montana Logging Association's offices, Coaches Corner in Whitefish, the Whitefish United Methodist Church, the Kalispell Mental Health Center campus, the Rocky Mountain Bank in Plains, and the Pope John II Cathedral in Bigfork.

Wayne married his summer camp sweetheart, Janice "Candi" Asbra in September of 2000. They were seldom apart and loved to explore the great outdoors in Montana, hunting big game and cooking gourmet food. Candi never tired of ideas to fix up their farmhouse and Wayne never tired of building and remodeling their home.

Their past few years together held many challenges and Wayne cared for Candi with utter devotion. "Wayne was one of the kindest, most generous men we've ever known." He was always ready to lend a tool or a hand often before you'd ever ask.

Wayne sustained a close bond with "Our Lord" and his spiritual attitude carried over into his friendships and business relationships.

Wayne was preceded in death by his "bestest friend in the whole world," his wife Candi; his son, Matthew; and a sister, Charlotte.

He is survived by his parents; his daughter, Abi Brown, and her husband, Donald; a grandson, Colton; a son and daughter in California; two brothers; numerous close in-laws; and family friends.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Darold Reiner officiating. Urn burial will take place in Santa Rosa.

Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
