Ted Clark has resigned as athletic director and head boys basketball coach at Stillwater Christian School to accept an adminstrative position at Foothills Community Christian School in Great Falls.

He also taught elementary physical education and high school weight training at Stillwater.

Clark coached boys basketball for seven seasons, winning state championships in 2000, 2001 and 2005. The Cougars finished second in 1999 and third in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

The Eagles posted a 19-5 season this past year.

Clark served as the school's athletic director for six years.

He also coached girls basketball for three season, winning state titles in 2001 and 2002.

"It was heart-wrenching," said Clark of leaving.

"I love the school, the community; it's been a great experience for me."

Clark said the chance to be an administrator was one factor in moving to Great Falls. Family was another consideration.

His wife is from Great Falls and he grew up in Geraldine, which is 70 miles from the Electric City.

It has been announced that Mark Pond will take over as athletic director and head boys basketball coach at Stillwater. He will also teach.

Pond is a 1992 graduate of Flathead Christian School, where he played soccer and basketball.

He graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, in 1996.

Pond taught in Japan at a Christian junior college for 2 1/2 years and at Cross Currents Christian School in Whitefish for the last four.

"(Stillwater) has a great athletic program," said Pond.

"Ted has done an amazing job.

"Coming in, it's kinda intimidating trying to follow in his footsteps," Pond continued. "It's also kinda nice because everything is set up. I just hope to keep improving on it every year like he (Clark) did."
