John Weston and Danielle Gastineau were the overall winners for men and women Saturday in the Summer Solstice Triathlon.

Weston's overall time for the 1/2-mile swim, 20K bike race and 5K run was 1:03:19.

Gastineau, 21st overall, posted a total time of 1:15:01.

Runners-up for men and women were Brendan Halpin, 1:04:45, and Megan Lavin, 1:05:06.

Rounding out the top five for men, and women, were: 3. Scott Gaiser, 1:05:56; 4. Ted Burnham, 1:06:35; and 5. Brian Haseman, 1:07.08; 3. Carly

Brown, 1:17:40; 4. Renate Bush, 1:18:50; and 5. Annie Grayson, 1:20:12.

The event, which began and ended at The Summit, is annually billed as a 'Beginners Triathlon' in an effort to get more individuals involved in the sport. It was limited to 132 entries, but also included several veteran triathletes.

A duathlon was held in conjunction with this event. It consisted of a 5K run, 20K bike ride and finished with another 5K run.
