Christine Elizabeth "Chris" Litchfield, 86

Christine Elizabeth "Chris" Litchfield, 86, of Peaks Island, Maine, and Barefoot Bay, Fla., died Feb. 27, 2005, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Roseland, Fla., after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Lowell, Maine. She was a 22-year winter resident of Barefoot Bay.

Mrs. Litchfield was a homemaker. She was a member of the Brackett Memorial Church on Peaks lsland. She attended Roseland United Methodist Church and was active in the church thrift shop.

Chris loved music and taught piano. She loved her family and cooking for her family and was affectionately known as the "Garden Lady" on Peaks Island.

Surviving are her sons, Robert Litchfield of Whitefish, Captain Joseph Litchfield of Homer, Alaska, Mark Litchfield of Dracut, Maine, and David Litchfield of Colchester, Vt.; sister, Elizabeth Cassidy, of Peaks Island; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation.

Mrs. Litchfield will be transferred to Portland, Maine, for services and burial on Peaks Island.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
