Assistant fire chief resigns in Kalispell

Kalispell's assistant fire chief Jim Stewart resigned his position this week after three years.

Stewart also has been fire marshal for the department. He came from Richland, Wash.

He leaves on April 1 to teach at a fire science college.

Chief Randy Brodehl said he wishes Stewart luck in his new venture and said Stewart will be missed by friends and co-workers.

Another assistant chief, William "Dee" McCluskey, resigned in January after three weeks on administrative leave.
