An apparent joy ride turned into an easy arrest for Kalispell police early Sunday at Sawbucks bar. Shortly after midnight, a man reported that his rental car had been stolen after he had started it in the parking lot to warm up and gone back inside the bar. At about 1:30 a.m., a 31-year-old woman drove the car back to the parking lot and went back inside the bar, where she was soon arrested after for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Saturday afternoon, there was a report of a diamond ring and earrings valued at more than $4,0000 being stolen from a building on the 1100 block of First Avenue East.

Responding to a noise complaint at the Meridian Point Apartments, police arrested five people late Saturday for being minors in possession of alcohol. Cited were two males, ages 18 and 17, and three females, ages 20, 19 and 17.

A man, 32, was arrested after a hit-and-run accident at First Avenue East and 13th Street early Sunday. After hitting another vehicle, the man drove off only to have police catch up with him at apartments on 11th Street West. He was cited for DUI per se, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, and a stop sign violation.
