W.Valley roadways due for cleanup

Residents of West Valley are invited to help out with the annual roadside cleanup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Meet at West Valley School at 9 a.m. for a few hours of sprucing up the area's roadways.

Salon helps out cancer patient

A fund-raiser for Dawn Blades is being hosted today at Inspirations Salon in Whitefish.

Blades is battling an aggressive breast cancer that has spread to her brain, lungs, liver, bones and lymph nodes.

All proceeds from the day will go toward paying her medical expenses.

Come for a haircut, nail polish change or massage. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be for sale and Swervin' Irvin will perform in the parking lot.

Park in the McDonald's lot across the street from the salon and next to the Mountain Mall.

Sale to benefit Samaritan House

Head to the Expo Building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds today for the Samaritan House Mega Auction and Garage Sale from 8 am. to 3 p.m. A wide array of treasures will be up for sale at rummage sale prices.

Get in on the action of the live auction featuring seven vehicles, two boats, a pontoon boat, trips, furniture, artwork and much more.

Several nonprofit organizations and churches are participating in the annual fund-raiser which provides money for the operating expenses of the homeless shelter.

Help raise money for Cheerful Heart

The Cheerful Heart Garage Sale opens its doors at 8 a.m. today at the New Life Christian Center in Polson.

Everything from small kitchen and major appliances, furniture, nearly-new mattresses, shop tools and bikes will be for sale.

Proceeds will help Cheerful Heart operate and continue to offer nonmedical assistance to cancer patients in Lake County.

Cheerful Heart Inc. is a nonprofit organization and donations are tax deductible.

Spring bazaar planned in Kalispell

The public is invited to a spring bazaar at the Tole Booth today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Handpainted decorative items and crafts, shabby chic furniture, Mother's and Father's Day gifts and more will be for sale. Coffee and cookies will be served. The bazaar is located at 515 First Ave. W. behind Flathead Travel in Kalispell.

Bibler home, garden opened for tours

One of the Flathead Valley's favorite springtime traditions, the Bibler Home and Garden Tours, will be this weekend, May 7 and 8.

Bring your friend, family, mother, or spouse to explore the beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds, and tour the Bibler home.

Tours will be conducted every hour on the hour beginning at 9 a.m. with the last tour scheduled for 4 p.m. Photographs will be permitted in the gardens only.

Tickets are $8 for adults or $3 for children. Proceeds from the tours will benefit student scholarships and programs at Flathead Valley Community College.
