Halvor Lee, 94

Halvor Lee, 94, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell.

He was born on Feb. 6, 1911, on the family farm near Bigfork, the son of Even J. and Gurine (Knutsvig) Lee. He attended the Swan River country school until completing the eighth grade. Following his schooling, he went into farming with his father.

He was united in marriage to Agnes Risdal on May 24, 1941, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork. On May 24, they would have been married 64 years.

Halvor loved farming especially raising Black Angus cattle; a job he loved until his retirement at age 73. He was very active in his church, singing in the choir, Sunday school teacher and was also Sunday school superintendent. He was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kalispell, where he also served as a deacon. He was an avid woodworker, loved gardening and also had a greenhouse at his farm.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and eight sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Lee, of Kalispell; daughter, Ruth Ann Scott and her husband, Solon, of Snohomish, Wash.; and sons, Daniel Lee and wife, Ruth, of Rock Island, Ill., and Duane Lee of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Halvor Lee will be held 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 13, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be noon until 6 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lonepine Cemetery near Bigfork.
