Kalispell police department was notified Friday afternoon of the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of a local motel. The victim's fearless daughter dove into a nearby trash bin in search of the billfold, but to no avail. The wallet was finally found lying in the grass - minus its cash stash.

A man on Fifth Avenue East North says his neighbor is running a car repair shop out of his house because there are always vehicles there and the neighbor has been observed changing people's oil or doing paint jobs. Friday night, however, was the last straw. Just after 8 p.m. the mechanic wannabe was seen - and heard - trying to install a boombox.

A minor was arrested at the Kalispell Center Mall on disorderly conduct. An adult was arrested on possession of drug paraphernalis in the same incident.

A man driving in the area of Peterson School was reported to be tossing beer cans out his window. A young child - who was not strapped into a safety seat - was on the passenger side of the vehicle. The man was observed running a stop sign and almost hitting a pedestrian. The car was gone when police arrived.

A woman on Fourth Street West reported that a man she knows came to her house and dismantled her phone.

A woman was assaulted in the parking lot of a store in the 1500 block of U.S. 93 South late Friday night.

Youths were reported racing their vehicles around the parking lot at Flathead Valley Community College during the midnight hour. All vehicles had vaporized by the time police got there.

A suspicious person lying on the sidewalk in front of a store on U.S. 93 South very early Saturday morning was just resting his eyes. And waiting for a ride.

Car dealers at Kalispell Center Mall was asked by City Airport officials to lower their promotional balloons Saturday morning because several of the balloons were high enough to interfere with air traffic.
