Flathead High School seniors will have a chance to stand and be recognized Monday evening.

The school's annual awards ceremony is planned for 6 p.m. May 23 in the high school auditorium. Everyone - from family to friends to community members - is welcome.

Scholarships and accomplishments of about 350 graduating seniors will be front and center that night.

More than 70 school, local, state and national award representatives will present the honors.

In addition, many more seniors have won college and university scholarships. They are too numerous to be announced at the awards ceremony, so will be printed in the graduation program.

Commencement is scheduled for 3 p.m. June 4 in Majestic Valley Arena.

Scholarship criteria vary greatly. They are awarded for service and volunteerism, involvement in school activities, academics and overcoming personal challenges. Many scholarships are based on a combination of these achievements.
