Whitefish police

Whitefish police took a report of a bear on its way from West Third Street towards Grouse Mountain Lodge Friday. Its travels preceded a report of a gunshot.

A chipmunk scurried around the police department Thursday night before being taken into custody Friday morning by a detective, who read it its animal rights and freed it.

A burglary was reported at a business on East Sixth Street.

An assault was reported on Skyles Place.
