Flathead County Sheriff's Office got a call from Burlington Northern Santa Fe on Sunday evening requesting them to meet a westbound train and remove a transient from one of the cars. Apparently the undiscriminating traveler had been tossed off an eastbound train earlier in the day.

A man riding his bike near Tally Lake Road on Sunday evening encountered a vehicle driving on a trail where motorized vehicles are prohibited. He explained this to the driver and, in return for his good intentions, received a full ration of verbal abuse.

Pain pills were stolen from a house on Dogwood Avenue. Nothing else was reported missing.

A fight between two men at a local motel Sunday night ended with one of them in the emergency room and the other arrested.

A naked man walking on River Road was no longer visible when Columbia Falls police arrived.

On the livestock beat, a "great big horse" was seen in the middle of Shady Lane late Sunday. Not to be outdone, two cows and a calf were reported on the road near Del's Bar in Somers around the same time of night. And a stray dog got into a pasture on Grand Vista Drive.
