Two BMX bikes were reported stolen Saturday afternoon while their owners were in the Bread of Life on Fifth Avenue West.

Kalispell Center Mall security called, police arrived, and eventually a crowd of young people abandoned what looked like a fight brewing and left the area.

A little over an hour later, a mother, her daughter and three other witnesses came to the police station to report an assault earlier in the evening. No indication the incidents were connected.
