Michele Lynn Shelly Ostrom, 37
Michele Lynn Shelly Ostrom, 37, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, at Brendan House after a valiant struggle against a brain tumor.
Our littlest angel was born Nov. 8, 1968, in Kalispell, the daughter of Grant and Rose (Clark) Nielsen. She was the youngest of seven children. Shelly attended West Valley School, graduated from Flathead High in 1986 and attended University of Montana for one year.
She married the love of her life and best friend, Clark Ostrom, on June 27, 1987, and shortly thereafter they moved to Seattle. Shelly was employed by Lamonts until her illness prevented her from continuing to work. They returned to Kalispell in November 2003.
She was active in 4-H, enjoyed playing the piano, cross-stitch, getting together with her friends, and was a very determined card and game enthusiast. She and Clark always made time to watch the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners together. Shelly loved her pets, all babies, and was the best little sister ever.
Her father, Grant Nielsen, and grandparents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Clark Ostrom, of Kalispell; her mother, Rose Nielsen, of Kalispell; sisters, Marty Brewer and husband, Roger, of Kalispell, Kathy Nielsen of Brockton, and Rosalie Seaman and husband, Paul, of Covington, Wash.; brothers, Ron Nielsen and wife, Pam, of Dillon, Gerry Nielsen and wife, Diana, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dennis Nielsen of Kalispell. She is also survived by Clarks parents, George and Iris Ostrom; brother-in-law, Shannon Ostrom- sisters-in-law, Heidi Duncan and Wendy Ostrom-Price, all of Kalispell; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at St. Matthews Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Urn burial will be afterward at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.
