Jean Heinecke Poitras, 80

Jean Heinecke Poitras, 80, died Nov. 8, 2005, in Whitefish after a long struggle with an atypical form of Parkinson's disease.

She was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Helena to Reta and Fred Heinecke.

Jean attended Principia College and the University of Montana, majoring in sociology.

Jean and Richard Poitras were married in 1948 in Helena. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Jean led an active life and loved meeting people. She loved to ski, play tennis, golf, swimming, reading, playing bridge and Parrot candy!

While living in Arizona, she became a travel agent and traveled the world.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

She is survived by her sister, her children, and grandchildren.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held next summer at Whitefish Lake.
