An arrest warrant with a $500,000 bond was issued Wednesday for a man who is considered extremely dangerous by Kalispell police.

Travis Smith, 33, is wanted on two felony charges of partner assault, two felony counts of assault with a weapon, felony theft, and solicitation of theft - also a felony.

He is accused of severely beating a woman and coercing her into stealing a large sum of money from her employer to give to him.

She said he held a knife to her throat during an incident that began at a Kalispell hotel and continued on a ride to Polson and back.

Police released a photo and description of Smith on Tuesday, asking for the public's help in locating him.

Detective Lt. Roger Nasset said investigators have received "a lot of tips" and some of them have been useful.

He believes Smith is still in the area and was here as recently as Tuesday night.

Anyone who sees Smith should call 911.

Tips that lead to his arrest could be worth as much as $1,000 in the Crimestoppers program.

Smith is 5 feet 11 inches and 210 pounds.

He may be driving a dark blue 2004 Dodge quad-cab pickup with custom wheels and the writing "Hardcore Syndicate" on the back windows. It has tinted windows.

The license plate number is 7T-G1176.

Smith is described as armed and dangerous and should not be confronted.
