BUTTE - Too much Katie Daly.

Daly turned in 17 kills as Butte knocked off the visiting Flathead Bravettes 25-21, 25-19, 25-14 in a Western AA volleyball match Saturday.

"She's amazing. They set her the ball every time they could and she killed it," said Flathead coach Christy Harkins.

Still, Harkins liked some of what she saw from Flathead (1-1, 1-1), too.

"We fought hard in those first two games.

But in the third game "we kind of fell apart."

The third game was tied at eight.

"And then we were down 19-10," Harkins said.

"Playing a team like this, we see our weaknesses and things we need to work on. We had some breakdowns in serve receive and some hitting errors.

(The Bravettes) felt they did some things well and I would agree," she added.

"Chelsea Vaudt did a good job running the middle, she was aggressive at the net and we served the ball pretty well," Harkins said.

"It's early in the season. We will see Butte again, many times. This is definitely something we can take and learn from. We've got a lot of work (ahead) on defense and a lot of work on blocking," she said.

Holli Hashley led the Bravettes with seven kills and 11 digs. Chelsea Vaudt added seven kills and had three blocks.

The Bravettes travel Thursday to Great Falls, where they will take on Billings Senior at 7:30 p.m. at CMR. Both teams will participate in the Great Falls Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
