Museum gift shop offers sale today

The Museum at Central School gift shop's inventory reduction yard sale continues today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

Sale prices on books, note cards, stuffed animals, handmade dolls and toys, mugs, T-shirts and more will be offered.

All proceeds benefit the museum, located at 124 Second Ave. E. in Kalispell. Call 756-8381 for details.

Chalk one up on Bigfork sidewalks

Bring your imagination to Bigfork's Sidewalk Art Contest today from 9 a.m. to noon. Artists of all ages and abilities will be given their own pieces of Electric Avenue sidewalk on which to create masterpieces, with prizes awarded in several categories.

Chalk and breakfast or lunch for participants is provided by Flathead Bank.

Bigfork merchants also will have sidewalk sales and a chance to win a $100 gift certificate. And be sure to hang around for the Bigfork Street Dance from 4 to 9 p.m. with John Dunnigan, Spineless Yes Men and Blue Onion.

Tractors on a roll at annual exhibition

The steam engines will be pumping and tractors rolling at this weekend's Antique Tractor Show and Threshing Bee sponsored by the Northwest Antique Power Association.

Visit days gone by with exhibitions of threshing, shingle making draft horse and mule plowing, and large displays of classic and antique tractors.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.

The grounds are located at Olsen Pioneer Memorial Park. Turn east off U.S. 2 onto Pioneer Road, across from Glacier International Airport and follow the signs.

Nordicfest fun continues in Libby

The Libby Nordicfest continues today and Sunday with live entertainment, arts and crafts and more, including traditional rock-throwing contests and great Scandinavian food fare and costumes.

The parade gets under way today at 10 a.m. The International Fjord Horse Show begins at 1 p.m. today and noon Sunday.

Stan Boron, the "King of Scandinavian Humor," performs at 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Dome Theater.

Cheerleaders raise money for a cause

Montana All-Star and Flathead High School cheerleaders join forces with Movie Gallery for a Katrina fund-raiser 3 to 6 p.m. this afternoon at Movie Gallery, 25 Heritage Way in Kalispell.

Cash donations will go directly to the Red Cross.

Donations of diapers, clothing and nonperishable food also will be accepted.

Supper will benefit Friendship House

Friendship House hosts its 16th annual Pig Roast Supper fund-raiser 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Eagles basement.

The menu features the traditional succulent roasted pig, with baked potatoes, bake beans, coleslaw, fruit salad, rolls and ice cream.

Entertainment will be by the Fiddling Friends and Reggie Houston at the piano. A third surprise group also is planned.

The cost is $10 for adults or $5 for children under 12.

A silent auction will be a highlight of the evening.

Friendship House is a nonprofit assisted living facility, providing quality and affordable 24-hour care for elderly and disabled adults in Kalispell.

Tickets will be available at the door.
