At the public trash containers near Lakeside, some boys reportedly detonated fireworks

in appliances left there. At one point, one of the large containers was completely engulfed in flames. The Flathead County Sheriff's Office arrested one person later on suspicion of arson. That wasn't the end of the problems there; the Somers Fire Department was called back twice more for fires.

Fireworks were a frequent complaint. Deputies warned people who lit fuses at Foys Lake Dock that it wasn't a safe place for pyrotechnics. On Juniper Drive, a resident called to say that fireworks were "going off everywhere around her."

A parent on Helena Flats Road called for help with a 15-year-old daughter who was on a destruction spree in the house.

A woman whose vehicle was stolen last week got a strange call Sunday. The caller said, "If you want your truck back, meet me under the bridge with $3,000 in unmarked bills." It turned out to be a prank call from someone she knows. Her truck is still missing.

A little bear, bleeding from the nose, was reported on Montana 35.

A dog responded to intruders in the yard on Alpine Lane. One man was heard telling the dog to shut up, which isn't really a stealthy thing for a prowler to do.

Officers assisted Lake County officials on the East Lake Shore where a camper threatened to shoot himself and other campers at 2 a.m. Monday. He was taken safely into custody.

A man behind Cenex in Evergreen was probably startled to wake up with emergency workers around him. There had been a report that the man was unresponsive, and his pulse and breathing were in question. The man said he was just taking a nap.
