| May 10, 2006 1:00 AM

is investigating a theft and suspected arson fire that destroyed a black 1998 Honda CRV. The vehicle was reported stolen from Liberty Street just before 1 a.m. Tuesday. The owner said the keys had been left in the vehicle. It was found on Ashley Lake Road, "completely toasted," over an embankment. The license plate and vehicle identification number were incinerated in the fire, but the owner was able to identify it. Fire officials think the fire was intentionally set. Kalispell and Smith Valley fire departments and Montana Highway Patrol responded.
