Richard S. Barton, 65

Richard Silas Barton, 65, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Richard was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Lawrence, Kan., to O.A. Barton Sr. and Mildred I. Mitchell.

Richard grew up in the Oskaloosa and Winchester communities in Kansas, graduating from high school there. He then got his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1967 from California State Polytechnic University.

He spent three years in the U.S. Army with the 7th Army in Germany and was a member of the D.A.V.

Richard enjoyed sailing and sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Barton.

Richard is survived by his brothers, O.A. Barton Jr., of Plain City, Ohio, and Ross W. Barton of Topeka, Kan.; and sisters, Mary E. Schuman of Calgary, Alberta, and Bette Watson of Kalispell.
