Roxy R. Hollopeter, 94

Roxy R. Hollopeter, 94, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Lake View Care Center in Bigfork. Roxy was born on Aug. 15, 1912, in Salem, Ore., to Frank and Martha (Erwin) Hollopeter.

In 1916, Roxy's family moved from Oregon to the Swan Valley by team and wagon. They homesteaded in the upper Swan. Roxy spent much of his youth trapping, hunting and fishing. He also had a saw mill in the Swan. Roxy developed a great love for nature, especially in the Swan Valley. He received his schooling at the Rumble Creek School, and Missoula County High School.

He married Belle Triplett in 1934; they had three children, Ronald, Larry and Delores. They later divorced.

In 1977, Roxy married Rose Ingram. They made their home at Swan Lake until they moved to Kalispell. Roxy entered Lake View Care Center in June 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald; three brothers; and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Kalispell; son, Larry, and his wife, Maria, of Swan Lake; daughter, Delores, and husband, Steve Berglund, of Prineville, Ore.; stepchildren, Margaret Love of Swan Lake, and Dan Ingram of Kalispell; sister, Evelyn Taylor, of Kalispell, who is 102 years old; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a memorial service next spring at one of his favorite places in the Swan Valley. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory caring for the family.
