Deputies wanted to see red

Flathead County sheriff's deputies looked for the red hair, red beard and the backpack on the man who reportedly jumped onto the tracks and waved his arms at an oncoming train at the Belton Amtrak depot just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. He got of out the way in time avoid both the train and the deputies.

The owner of Grandma's Attic Mini Storage reported that the lock had been cut and items removed from a storage unit for which the renter had not paid fees.

A wallet went missing without the owner's permission at Super 1 Foods.

A youngster riding a bicycle was knocked off the bike, but not bitten by the pit bull that someone said was to blame.

On Demersville Road, a caller thought two children started a fire Wednesday afternoon. Firefighters cleared the scene 40 minutes later. The Sheriff's Office said the 15- and 17-year-old youths took off running. It's still under investigation.
