POLSON - Jaelin Vandeberg slammed two home runs and Amanda James and Kendra Woldstad also hit round trippers as Polson crushed Eureka 21-5 Thursday in Western A conference softball play.

Polson, 1-0 in league and 3-0 overall, had nine different players collect hits. Vandeberg and Kyla McDonald both went 4-for-4 and James was next at 3-for-3.

Vandeberg and James hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning to left center and left field, respectively. Vanderberg's came with a runner aboard.

Vandeberg's solo shot in the fourth inning hit the scoreboard, which is 10-15 feet above the fence.

Woldstad homered to left in the same inning.

All four HRs cleared the 200-foot fence.

"I thought offensively we did very well," said Polson coach Larry Smith.

"We started out with our small ballgame, scored the first two runs on that. Then the big guns opened up and blew things wide open."

Polson's next action is April 13 at Columbia Falls and April 14 at home with Hamilton and Corvallis.
