Jerrol Mel 'Jerry' Sexton, 69

| April 27, 2007 1:00 AM

"A great loss was felt by many on April 24, 2007. Jerrol Mel Sexton slipped away from us and went on to a better life." There is no heart that he touched that will not truly miss him.

Jerry Sexton was born in Kalispell on June 5, 1937, to Walter Melvin "Bud" Sexton and Myrtle Jeanette Lee. At the age of 4, Jerry lost his father, Bud, and he and his sister, Judy, were raised by their grandmother. Her love and sense of hard work were positive traits passed on to Jerry and Judy. Jerry had a love for life that was evident in everything he did. He never stepped back from the edge, always looking forward and never regretting a moment.

Jerry leaves behind his two sons, Daryle and J.D. He was very proud of his sons and their families. Jerry was, in his way, a father to many. He shared his love freely and never expected anything in return. To try and describe his impact on our lives is impossible in words; only in our hearts can we feel him. We can no longer hug him, share a drink with him or listen to him wax eloquent; we can only hold on to his love.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sue; his sons, Daryle, and J.D. and Bernadette; his grandsons, Kyle, Jeremy and Jonathan; his granddaughters, Bobbi, Heather and Jennifer; and his great-grandchildren, Tristan and Taylor. Jerry leaves many great friends and family; and to each a toast.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Eagle Academy High School, in Eagle, Idaho. A celebration of life will be afterward from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Dutch Goose on State Street.
