Turkey plays 'chicken' with traffic

| April 29, 2007 1:00 AM

A Kalispell police officer tried to herd the wild turkey in Finnegan's parking lot toward a park, but it was "pretty stubborn about wanting to play in traffic."

A woman said someone ran over her son's foot in the junior high parking lot.

After being pulled over, a 37-year-old woman was arrested for driving with expired registration, without insurance and with a suspended license. She also had a couple of warrants.

Three guys were arrested during a traffic stop for minor in possession of alcohol. One, an adult, was also charged with a probation violation.

A teenage girl was arrested on the same charge, as well as driving with a blood alcohol content of .02 or more. The man riding with her was arrested for possessing drugs and alcohol.

After a short pursuit on East Conrad, a man was arrested for his second DUI.

A wallet was swiped from a man's vehicle in a private lot near Alley Connection, but at least there was nothing of value in it, he said. The three credit cards have all been canceled.

Others were not so lucky. One couple said someone used their debit card number to clean out their bank account. Another woman told police she got a $3,000 bill when her daughter stole her credit card and went shopping.

Magic Diamond Casino reportedly received counterfeit bills Friday night.
