Sometimes paying for a vehicle isn't enough

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies were looking for a van that had been reported stolen from Kalispell on Monday evening. They found it pulling into a bar on U.S. 2 and arrested the 43-year-old man driving it. He was charged with theft and probation violation. The man told police he was hitchhiking when someone drove up and offered to sell him the van for $300. And he did have a receipt. However, thinking there may be something more to the story, deputies are still investigating.

Auto body parts were found in a Dumspter in Kila.

A concerned citizen called 911 after seeing a man ram his car into a woman's car on Conrad Drive and then flee. A second concerned citizen called 911 to say the man had also beat the woman up. The woman refused to sign a complaint.

A woman got a message on her cell phone saying to leave the caller alone or she'll get hurt. The woman told deputies she has no idea who the caller is.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting after he walked out of a store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen with a couple of CDs. Since he had already been warned to stay out of the store, he was also charged with trespassing.

A headset valued at $25 was stolen from an electronics store off U.S. 2 in Evergreen.

A loose dog was spotted on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. Another one was seen on McMannamy Draw.

A man on U.S. 2 near Columbia Falls called 911 to say he thought he heard someone walking around on his back porch. Then he hung up.

A bunch of mailboxes were ripped up and piled in the middle of the street on Blanchard Lake Road.

A peacock was found on Gladys Glen Road.

A woman on Youngs Lane told deputies a man pulled a gun on her Monday night.
