Barbara F. (Gosney) Shryock was born Sept. 14, 1913, and died peacefully at her home in Bigfork, on Flathead Lake, on Nov. 23, 2007.

Her mother, father, nine siblings, one grandson, Ty Willis, and her beloved husband, W.L. Shryock, preceded her in her 'home-going.'

Barbara was the youngest of 10 children. She attended Deer Park Elementary School in Columbia Falls, and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1931.

She was employed in Kalispell and Spokane.

She is most remembered for the love and care she gave to her family, her unwavering faith and unending devotion to serving others in any way she could.

With a spirit of selflessness, Barbara and Lester shared their home on the lake with family and friends since 1960. She, as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, lived a Godly life of grace and hospitality until the very end.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, B. Arminta Willis-Rector, in Spokane; a son, William D. Shryock, in Houston; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 7, at the Bigfork Baptist Church, located on Highway 35, in Bigfork. You are invited to a dessert reception following.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, suite 100, Kalispell, MT 59901; Missionary to Mexico, Jon Kuefler, c/o First Baptist Church Marion, 180 Pleasant Valley Road, Marion, MT 59925; or Samaritan Purse, P.O.
